Natural Horsemanship is the term used to describe interacting with a horse with lines of communication that are gentle and understanding. Long gone are the days of abuse and force used against horses. While many times we need to the firm, there is never a place to use abuse and fear to force the horse to our will.
With an atmosphere of respect and understanding we can work in harmony and unison with the horse. Top horsemen have been learning and honing their skills in “Horse Speak” by observing horses in their natural state and watching how they interact with each other. Once we establish ourselves as the leader the horse will follow without undue harsh treatment of the horse.
Communication is the key to any relationship, human or horse. Once we learn how to speak to the horse in a manner they can understand, a whole world of cooperative partnership opens up between horse and rider.
At Flying G, we strive to continuously learn more and impart our knowledge to our students to help them become successful partners with horses. We encourage our students to continue their education so they can be better equipped to train and partner with horses.
