This unique ranch offers the exciting adventure of being on a real working horse ranch in a Christian atmosphere. The ranch is operated by Claudia “Sprite” Gaughan who is a professional,  certified riding instructor and trainer.

Our dedicated staff work hard to provide quality riding and horse care instruction at a very affordable price. We stress safety in all of our programs. Riders of all ages and skill levels will find opportunities to grow and expand their knowledge about God’s wonderful creation, the horse. All of our staff are highly trained to assure proper  leadership,  supervision and safety at all times. We strive to maintain the highest goals for God’s glory.

The Flying G Ranch is a Christian horse ranch dedicated for families to provide a Christian atmosphere while allowing both children and adults to develop a deeper and stronger relationship with the Lord in a ranch environment. Life lessons, horsemanship skills and character are built while learning about horses, ranch-life and nature.

Exciting activities throughout the year include play-days, horse shows, trail rides, clinics and much more. Specialty classes  are offered that focus on such topics as showmanship,  horse psychology classes, horse care and many other subjects.

At The Flying G Ranch we are constantly striving to improve and grow as we share our knowledge and love of horses with others in our community. We invite you to join us on our journey.Scriptural principles, confidence, personal responsibility and group participation are taught through daily ranch activity.

Our History

The Flying G Ranch began in California in the shadow of the rugged and beautiful mountains of Yosemite. The Ranch was owned and operated by Capt. John T. Gaughan, a commercial airline pilot for Pan Am World Airways.

Many years later his son Dan Gaughan and wife Claudia wished to carry on the legacy of the Flying G by establishing a Christian horse facility and camp.  In October 2001 The Flying G Ranch was established in Waxahachie Texas.  Through the efforts of the Gaughan family and “Grandma” Martins (Claudia’s mother) plus the help of numerous friends and volunteers, the tack room, pastures and main arena were built by the next spring. The ranch began operation in the summer of 2002. with  horsemanship day camps and riding lessons.
